DESIGN INTENTION
The design intent is adaptive reuse which is to preserve the character while keeping an appropriate new use and revitalizing the structure. It is like adding another layer to the existing context. It is also intended to connect to the history of the place
SITE DOCUMENTATION AND ANALYSIS
Site- Sassoon Docks, Colaba.
Sassoon Docks was built in 1875. It was the first commercial wet dock in Western India. The dock was built and owned by David Sassoon & Co. Established the cotton trade in India. It is also the largest wholesale fish market.
